Ethos is the author's ability to appeal to the audience's need for a credible source.
Pathos is the author's ability to appeal to the emotional side of the reader.
Logos is the author's ability to seem logical to the audience.
Have you thrown away your old VHS player and now you can't watch all the old movies from your childhood? This VHS player would be perfect for you. I earned my PhD in Old Stuff from the University of Lichtenstein, so as a professional I can tell you that the VHS player is top-of-the-line. It would only make sense to buy this VHS player because your wife or husband will love you 347% more than they did before you bought this fantastic piece of hardware. The VHS player is family friendly and only requires a maximum of three hours to install. That's plenty of fun time to spend with family and friends! If your family or friends don't want to help you install a VHS player for fun, you might want to rethink your choices in the people you hang around, because they're insane. This VHS player would look great in your house. It is in the shape of an octagon and is only four feet wide. It is perfect to hold your television in the middle of your living room! Aesthetics are very important, which is why I've added many stickers that support many amazing bands and artists such as Miley Cyrus and Maroon 5. I've dropped the price from $100 to $99.37, so you can get it for a steal! Just buy it. Please.

Review of Annotated Bibliography
The purpose of an annotated bibliography is to give credit where it is due and to give a brief explanation of each of the sources and the intent of their authors. Generally they are used by authors of journals and books that are research projects. They help the reader or audience understand the sources better when reading the actual paper and they give a summary of the sources, while also helping the reader or audience understand the credibility of the sources that the author is using. Annotated bibliographies are, in my opinion, much more useful than an unannotated bibliography. They provide more information on the sources and help the reader determine whether or not the sources seem credible enough to read further into the paper. They also make the paper seem more organized and thought out than an unannotated bibliography would.

Skills to be Learned
One of the skills that I feel unfamiliar with is skill A, which is to identify and explain rhetorical strategies in a variety of text. It may be that I'm just out of my mind at the moment, but the skill doesn't sound familiar to me and I would like to improve in it so that I can become a better writer. However, I may be good at it without even knowing it. I suppose I won't know until I first understant what it is.
Another skill that I would like to improve in is skill B, which is the ability to integrate your own idea to those with other by accurately quoting, summarizing, and paraphrasing. I want to improve in this because I feel as though I don't appropriately use quotes. I also feel like I am not very good at paraphrasing or summarizing the ideas of other people, which is a skill that is useful and necessary in writing.
A third skill that I'd like to improve in is skill E, which is essentially the use of electronic sources. When I first learned to write research papers, I was told to only use books. I'm probably not the best at determining the validation of electronic sources and definitely not good at finding good sources.

Paper Topic Ideas
I chose the topic of comparing local foods with industrialized and shipped foods. I chose this mostly because I'd like to learn more about the topic to discover which is actually healthier and which is more convenient. We all hear that growing foods yourself is much helthier and better for you, but have we all seen the facts?
I'm in agreement with the people who say it's healthier to gow your own foods or to buy foods grown and hunted locally, but that doesn't mean that there aren't benefits to the foods that are shipped from other places. I think researching the subject will help me better understand which is actually better and interpret the pros and cons of both sides of it. Which pros outweigh the cons of one side, and vice versa? Does one side have more pros than the other, and does one side have more cons than the other? These questions are some of the ones I'll be finding the answers to as I research the topic of my paper. Health is an important issue in my life. I like to stay as healthy as possible, and I try to stay informed about everything I can in order to stay healthy.

TED Talks: Why Genetically Engineered Foods Should be Labeled
My initial thoughts on the video entailed wondering why the ways foods are grown and processed are generally not on the labels when the food is canned, boxed, or bagged and put into grocery stores to be distributed into our homes. I like to keep a healthy diet going, so knowing what goes into my body is important to me. A lot of my foods are grown in my back yard and those that are not are either hunted and processed by me or people I personally know or they are grown in the backyards of people I personally know. The lack of knowledge as to how my food is processed and grown is unsettling and bothersome.
Some of the older pesticides and preservatives were previously believed to not be able to survive in the human body, as they were said to be destroyed by saliva within seconds of contact. But studies in the most recent years show that some of these chemicals are showing up in the systems of people who have eaten products that these substances were used on.
With more recent publicity of the use of chemical substances, you would think that companies would use less of these chemicals so that less attention would be brought to them about it. But, in fact, GE crops have increased their use of herbicides. This shows how much they care about what the people find out. It's easy to do whatever you want to your products when you control most of the food in the country.
